INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers have seized 27 gallons of a substance commonly known as a date rape drug at the Indianapolis International Airport throughout one month.
The strong intoxicant Gamma-Butyrolactone, or GBL, was seized in September as it came from various countries. Often times it was headed to somewhere in the U.S. The seized GBL has an estimated street value of about $35,000.
WTHR-TV reports GBL is converted into Gamma-Hydroxybutyrate, a controlled substances that's also known as GBH, when consumed.
