Hoosier Vets Participate in Honor Flight

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Dozens of Hoosier Heroes are in Washington today. They are part of Honor Flight Northeast Indiana. It's the 14th time a local group has departed from Fort Wayne.



The trip pays tribute to World War II, Korean War and Vietnam vets. They'll tour Washington D.C. — and that includes laying a weathing at Arlington National Cemetery.



A total of 70 former service members are on the trip, more than half are 90 or older. That's including a two who are 99 years old. You can be a part of the welcome celebration for the veterans, they'll return to Fort Wayne International Airport around 9:30 p.m. Hundreds of people are expected to share their appreciation.
