Michigan Seeks Public Input on State Infrastructure

MICHIGAN (WOWO) — Michigan residents are being asked to share their questions about the state’s infrastructure, including roads, electricity, natural gas, drinking water and internet service.

According to Michigan Public NPR, the Michigan Infrastructure Council is collecting public input through an online survey that will help shape a statewide infrastructure guide for residents.

Council head Palencia Mobley said residents often have questions about the complex systems that support their daily lives, including who maintains them and how they are funded.

Mobley said decades of insufficient investment have contributed to the infrastructure challenges facing the state.

She said the council believes an engaged and informed public can help advocate for solutions to those challenges.

The survey will be used to develop a Citizens’ Guide intended to help residents better understand infrastructure issues and become more involved in them.

The survey is open through Oct. 30.
