NEW ALBANY, Ind. (AP) — Police say a mother found drowned in a southern Indiana creek along with her two children killed them before committing suicide.
The bodies of 35-year-old Jaime Clutter, 10-year-old Brandon and 6-month-old Katelyn were found March 13 in New Albany’s Binford Park. New Albany Police Chief Sherri Knight said during a news conference Friday that Clutter had a serious mental condition and was delusional.
Knight says Clutter thought her family was being stalked by “demonic presences.”
The nude bodies were recovered less than a mile from where the family lived. The causes of death were drowning, and hypothermia was a contributing factor.
Clutter’s husband, Michael Clutter, said previously he didn’t believe she could have killed their children or herself.
