South Bend Man Turns Himself in After Fatal Crash

ELKHART, IND. (WOWO) A South Bend man has been charged in connection with a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred on July 10 in Elkhart County.

According to the Elkhart County Prosecutor’s Office, 44-year-old Eric Clifton Beal was driving under the influence when he struck a motorcycle carrying two people. The driver, 31-year-old Caleb Watson, was taken to a hospital where he later died. The passenger also sustained injuries.

Following the crash, Beal left the scene but later turned himself in to the Elkhart County Jail on Saturday. He now faces charges related to the fatal hit-and-run. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances of the crash.
