FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A Fort Wayne legend has a big job to do this summer.

Bob Chase will be the Parade Grand Marshal at the Three Rivers Festival this year.

Chase has been a Fort Wayne radio institution since he debuted on WOWO in 1953. He’s been the voice of the Fort Wayne Komets for over 60 years. He earned the prestigious Lester Patrick Award for his outstanding service to hockey.

Jack Hammer, the Executive Director of the Three Rivers Festival, says he could not think of a better Grand Marshal for this year’s festival, which celebrates Indiana’s Bicentennial.

The parade will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 9.
