FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) – Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry, along with the Fort Wayne Park Foundation and Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation, announced a new community campaign to support the city’s newest park Wednesday.

The campaign is aimed to create a legacy endowment for Promenade Park, which would create a private funding source for future activities, improvements and maintenance.

Although the Promenade Park construction was fully funded by grants and pledges, the campaign is aimed for future improvements.

A website has been created for the campaign, which can be found at fwparkfoundation.org. Anyone can contribute, and those who donate $500 or more will have their names engraved on the Promenade Seawall Steps leading to the river.

Promenade Park is set to open during the summer of 2019.
