TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (AP) _ Indiana State University officials are moving forward with a $64 million building renovation and expansion for its College of Health and Human Services.
The project for the Terre Haute campus received final approval from the State Budget Committee on Monday, clearing the way for the university to seek construction bids.
University officials say the 87,000-square-foot expansion will be built first onto the former Arena Building, followed by renovation of the current facilities completed in 1961 and 1986. The (Terre Haute) Tribune-Star reports the work is expected to be finished in early 2019.
Indiana State senior vice president Diann McKee says the project will improve the learning environments for programs that have some 3,000 students enrolled.
